What we're about - Arc Inspirations

Nobody does it better for bars and restaurants…

Nobody does it better for Bars & Restaurants in the North of England.

Established in 1999 by Martin Wolstencroft and Chris Ure, Arc Inspirations opened its first bar, The Arc (now Manahatta) in Headingley, Leeds in 2000.

Within four years, The Box and Trio Bar & Grill both in Headingley, were launched along with Zed (now Kith & Kin) and the Hub (now The Pit) in Chapel Allerton, Leeds. 2006 saw the launch of the first bar outside Leeds, Banyan Bar & Kitchen in Harrogate.

In October 2007, Napa Bar & Kitchen (now Banyan) was launched in Roundhay, Leeds. May 2008 saw the opening of Kobe (now Banyan) in Horsforth, Leeds, the company's eighth venture. In July 2013, a second Banyan Bar & Kitchen opened in York.

2014 saw the Pit open in Harrogate and Manahatta open on Merrion Street, Leeds. In 2015 Banyan arrived at the Corn Exchange in Manchester followed by Banyan Leeds in 2016, in the old Post Office Building in City Square. In 2017 a second Manahatta on Greek Street, Leeds and Banyan in Ilkley opened their doors.

2018 was a prosperous year for Arc Inspirations, with 3 openings; Box Leeds City, Manahatta Deansgate, Banyan Spinningfields, and a rebrand - Manahatta Headingley (from Arc).

In March 2019 Arc Inspirations will be branching out to Newcastle with the 9th Banyan Bar & Kitchen.

Keeping it Local

Since opening our first bar in 2000 we’ve had a commitment to sourcing the best available produce and supporting the local community. We take quality very seriously and we’re lucky that the North of England has no shortage of outstanding suppliers who we continue to build up fantastic relationships with.

Grandad’s Sausages provide delicious produce for our Manchester brands. They are a family business originating from Bury in Lancashire, started by their own Grandad Bernard over 50 years ago. Our Yorkshire brands’ sausages are supplied by Lishman’s of Ilkley a multi-award winning family business established for over 30 years.

Banyan’s delicious pies are supplied by the Great North Pie Company, Artisan Pie makers in Cheshire. They are the winners of five categories at the British Pie Awards, and scooped the prestigious title of 'North West Fine Food Producer of the Year’. Sourcing some of the finest ingredients from the North.

When it comes to our drinks, we continue to keep it local and independent. Suppliers include; Ilkley Brewery - a small team, all passionate about their work. Saltaire Brewery, an international award-winning brewery in Shipley, West Yorkshire.

Arc Inspirations in the Community

In the Community

Over the years Arc Inspirations has been passionate about helping the local community and has worked with various charities including; Guide dogs for the blind, Lineham Farm (pictured), Little Heroes, the Tsunami relief fund, Yorkshire Cancer Research, the Sue Ryder Hospice, Walking with the Wounded, Chuf (Children’s Heart Unit Fund), Olympic Dreams and Street Smart.

We have raised over £300,000 for these charities and are always looking for ways we can help in the community.

We are currently helping to raise money for CHUF by donating 25p from each CHUF burger directly to the charity, whose mission is to make life better for children and young people who are born with, or who develop, heart conditions from the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.

For every sale of the Olympic Meat Feast pizza at Box Leeds, we also donate 25p towards raising funds for Sarah Davies, a local weightlifter, to realise her dream to compete at the 2020 Olympic Games.
